Salvador Bahia Airport Train Transfers

Trains are the fastest mode of transportation and one of the most affordable transfer services in Salvador.

A subway station links Salvador Bahia Airport directly to downtown Salvador at Lapa. You can ride it to and from the airport.

A free shuttle bus will drop you off at the subway station and back if you ride the metro back to the airport. It runs every 15 minutes from 5 am to 1 am to and from the Aeroporto station of the Salvador subway.

The travel time from the airport to the city center is approximately 45 minutes. Take the free shuttle from the airport to the metro. Take Line 2 to the North at the metro station, then change to Metro Line 1 Lapa- Piraja if you are going to the downtown area.

To use the metro, you must purchase one of the cards: Unitário, Integration, SalvadorCARD, and Metropasse.

  • The public fare of the metro determined by the Government of the State of Bahia is R$ 4.10.
  • Integrated metro fares with urban buses or STEC cost R$ 4.90.
  • Integrated Metro fare with metropolitan buses: from R $ 4.30 plus the value of the difference in the metro fare, if any. Metro credits can be purchased through applications, accredited networks, self-service machines, and station ticket booths.

In case of a fare increase, only Vale Transporte and Meia Passagem Escolar (MPE) cards can be utilized to purchase the previous tariff for thirty days from the date of the tariff increase. For all other cards, the values are valid from the increase date.
